The removal of a tooth from its socket. Can be simple (visible tooth) or surgical (impacted or broken).

Simple extractions take 15–30 minutes under local anaesthetic. Surgical extractions (impacted wisdom teeth, broken roots) may need bone removal and stitches. Recovery: simple 3–7 days, surgical up to 2 weeks.
