The hardest substance in the human body. The outer protective layer of teeth, 1–2 mm thick.

Enamel cannot regenerate once lost. Fluoride strengthens it but doesn't rebuild thickness. Acid erosion, grinding, and aggressive brushing all thin enamel over time. Enamel gives teeth their white appearance.
