Canine (Cuspid)

Definition

The pointed tooth next to the incisors, used for tearing food. Humans have four canines — two upper, two lower.

In detail

Canines are the longest-rooted teeth and among the last baby teeth to be replaced (age 10–12). They're structurally important for the bite and visually distinctive in smile design. Impacted canines are the second most common impaction after wisdom teeth.
