Definition
A fixed dental restoration that replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring to the teeth on either side of the gap.
In detail
A 3-unit bridge has two crowns on supporting teeth (abutments) and one artificial tooth (pontic) in between. Lifespan 10–15 years. Requires grinding down adjacent teeth. Implant-supported bridges don't touch adjacent teeth.
