A procedure that adds graft material to the jawbone to rebuild lost bone, usually before implant placement.
In detail
Bone grafts use your own bone (autograft), sterile donor bone (allograft), bovine bone (xenograft), or synthetic material. Small grafts can be done with implant placement; larger grafts need 4–9 months of healing before implants.
