6 months out

• Porcelain veneer prep — this places temporaries which you'll live with for 2 weeks
• Trial smile feedback and lab refinement
• Spa/aesthetic appointments: facial treatments, skin prep — coordinate with your dentist on timing

1 month out

• Final veneer placement
• Whitening maintenance session if natural teeth
• Professional hygiene visit and polish
• Order retainers/nightguard — they should arrive 2 weeks before the wedding

2 weeks out

• Final bite adjustment for veneers
• Nightguard delivery and fit check
• Day-before makeup trial with professional photos under different lighting — confirms the smile reads well on camera

1 week out

• No red wine or curries (extrinsic staining we can't remove quickly)
• Gentle brushing, fluoride rinse daily
• Avoid trying anything new — no new toothpaste, no whitening strips, no home bleaching

24 hours before

• Hydrate well
• Soft-bristle brush, gentle floss
• A 15-minute professional polish if your dentist offers one

Wedding day

• Small cosmetic mirror in your bag
• Water bottle between speeches
• A discreet toothpick or interdental brush if you're eating dark foods
• Breathe and enjoy it — the weeks of preparation have done their job

What not to do in the final month

• Don't start a new orthodontic treatment
• Don't try over-the-counter whitening strips
• Don't get a new crown or veneer bonded within 2 weeks of the day — give the bond time to fully mature
• Don't change toothpaste — stick with what your dentist prescribed

Tips for honeymoon

• Take your nightguard
• Pack travel-size fluoride toothpaste and floss
• Avoid biting into anything hard on the first night (nerves can cause accidental biting of lip or cheek)
• If traveling internationally and you're recently-veneered, carry a one-page dental emergency sheet from your dentist with contact info
