A restoration that fills a cavity after decayed tooth structure has been removed. Usually composite (tooth-coloured) or amalgam (silver).

Modern fillings are composite. Small to medium cavities take 20–45 minutes. Costs AED 400–900. Lifespan 5–10 years. Replaced when they develop decay at the margin or crack.
