Involuntary grinding or clenching of teeth, usually during sleep. Causes wear, cracks, and jaw pain. Managed with a nightguard.

Affects roughly one in three adults. Causes include stress, sleep disorders, and bite issues. Forces can reach 200–600 Newtons per grind cycle (vs ~100 N normal chewing). Untreated bruxism cracks teeth, damages veneers, and causes headaches.
