Veneers for Small (Peg) Teeth

Peg-shaped lateral incisors and small teeth can look dramatically better with minimal-prep veneers. Here's the approach.

What 'peg teeth' are

A peg lateral is a naturally undersized or pointed lateral incisor — typically genetic. It creates a gap or asymmetry next to the central incisors.

The minimal-prep approach

Because the tooth is small, veneers add volume without removing much. Often:

  • Zero prep or ultra-minimal prep
  • Composite veneers work well for younger patients
  • Porcelain veneers for longevity

Cost in Dubai

  • Composite: AED 900–1,500 per tooth
  • Porcelain: AED 2,500–5,000 per tooth

The pair problem

Pegs are often symmetric (both laterals). Treat both for a balanced result — treating one creates a new asymmetry.

When to do it

  • Any time after jaw growth is complete (around age 18)
  • Before major social milestones (weddings, graduations)
  • When it affects confidence

Longevity

Veneers over small teeth last as long as veneers over normal teeth. Good hygiene, no grinding, and avoiding biting hard objects.
