Implant Torque: Why It Matters at Placement
Insertion torque predicts success. Under 35 Ncm means waiting; above means faster loading.

What torque means
Insertion torque measures how tightly the implant grips the bone at placement.
The 35 Ncm threshold
- Above 35 Ncm: strong stability; immediate loading possible
- Below 35 Ncm: needs conventional healing (3–4 months)
Why it matters
Enables same-day teeth for well-stabilised cases. Protects failure risk for unstable cases.
How it's measured
Direct reading on torque wrench or calibrated motor during insertion.
